• (3-0-3). Application of various principles of finance to in-depth case studies. Emphasis is on business problem solving by utilizing tools of financial analysis. PR: BUSN 350.
  • This course is designed to prepare students to effectively use a major word processing package.  Topics include formatting, editing, file management, tables, and graphics.  Students learn to create and edit PowerPoint presentations including presentations with illustrations and shapes, custom backgrounds and Smart Art Design and with information graphics. This course meets the computer skill requirement under the General Studies requirements.

  • (3-0-3) The course is designed to help the student write clear and concise business letters, memos, reports, and e-mail communications. Students will also participate in group presentations. Other topics covered are the communication process, verbal and nonverbal communication, job/employment process, resumes, and cover letters. Electronic communication is integrated into this course by using the Internet, e-mail, library electronic reserves, and presentation software. PR: ENGL 101 or equivalent.

  • (1-2-3) Introduction to worksheet, absolute cell references, working with large worksheets, what-if analysis, using Excel to create static and dynamic Web pages, financial functions, data table, amortization schedules, cell protection, worksheet database manipulation, lookup functions, database fuctions, tamplates, working with multiple worksheets, find and replace, and customized printing.  At the conclusion of this course, students should be prepared to take the Core-Level MOS (Microsoft Office Skills) Certification exam for Excel 2003.  PR:  BUSN 140 Excel and Access, or Introduction level Excel skills, or permission of Instructor.

  • The design and execution of dynamic web pages using web design packages such as Dreamweaver. Attention will be given to issues of laoding speed, navigation, and attention getting techniques. Use of keywords, spiders, and multi-media will be explored.  PR:  Busn 130 or COSC 102.

    PLEASE NOTE: You must have access to Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 software to complete the assignments in this course. This software IS NOT available via CART; however there is limited availability in the BSC campus library and Mahood Hall, Room 308, BSC. 

  • (3-0-3). An integrative course involving comprehensive analysis of administrative policy-making from a strategic, organizational perspective, involving functional areas such as accounting, finance, management, marketing, and operations, in context with the economic, political, and social environment. Extensive use of case analyses or written reports to develop integrative decision skills. This is the capstone course for business majors; course requirements will include standardized evaluations covering business core courses. PR: Senior standing in Division of Business major and completion of all Division of Business core courses. CR (or PR) BUSN 482.
